Description: The City of Tacoma – Tacoma Water will showcase its SharePoint-based system, enhanced with automation, as the central portal for Emergency Management incident intake, response, and reporting. This solution eliminated manual processes by leveraging Office 365’s capabilities, resulting in cost savings by avoiding the need for a separate reporting platform. It also provided all stakeholders with clear visibility into incident status and progress.

Presenter: Gertie Joiner, Records and Information Management Coordinator, Tacoma Power – Reliability and Compliance

Gertie is currently the RIM Coordinator for Tacoma Power’s Reliability and Compliance team. She recently rejoined the group, having previously been a member before spending two years at Tacoma Water as a Business Analyst. During her time there, she was tasked with developing an emergency management portal that leveraged the full capabilities of Office 365. Following the successful implementation of the system at Tacoma Water, Gertie has now been tasked with recreating the same portal at Tacoma Power – bringing consistency and improved efficiency across both utilities.
